Spaghetti bread is one of my favorite kid friendly recipes that both my husband and I love to eat as well. It’s incredibly simple and I can usually throw together cooked and all in 30 minutes or so. I also think it looked pretty all braided after it’s cooked.
Once you have the bread dough prepared you want to roll it out into a large square on a large cookie sheet. Cook you pasta al dente and drain. Add the sauce, meat and cheese. Really you can use whatever meat and cheese you prefer. I always end up using something different based on what is available at the time. Dumb all that on your bread and cut inch sections on both sides of the bread. Not sure how to describe it better so reference the picture below.
You will take the top and bottom dough sections and pull them across the sides of the spaghetti. Then you want to start alternating sides taking the dough and stretching it across the spaghetti making a braided look.
You may end up with a section out of place at the end and you just need to cut it off. Put your spaghetti loaf in the oven and cook!
rub butter over the top and let cool 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Prepare One Stop Shop Bread Dough
1 lb Spaghetti Noodles
1 can Spaghetti or Pasta Sauce
1 lb Browned Ground Beef/Turkey
1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese
Preheat oven to 350 F. Boil water and add spaghetti noodles cook al dente. Roll out bread dough into a large square on large cookie sheet. Drain the spaghetti and add ground meat, cheese, and pasta sauce. Place the spaghetti down the center longwise of the bread dough. Cut the edges of the bread dough in 1 inch sections on both sides. Take the top two bread sections and the bottom two and stretch down the edges of the spaghetti. Fold over each piece of dough across the spaghetti, tucking in the last couple of pieces underneath your loaf. You may need to cut off one of the dough sections if you run out of room. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until light browning on top. Rub butter over the top of your spaghetti loaf and let cool 10 min. Slice and serve.
