I personally dont like the typical fondant. It honestly tastes funny to me. However, it definitely can make a cake look pretty so people in general love to use it. I you love the way your finished cake can look you have to try it out. For cake recipes and more follow here.
When I discovered marshmellow fondant, I about died. Same texture but so easy and tastes… wait for it… like marshmellows. Now isn’t that genious!
Simple as 1, 2, 3.
1. Melt your marshmellows
2. Mix in your powdered sugar
3. Let it set!
I’ve found that letting your fondant set makes all the difference in having good fondant to roll out.
Marsh mellow Fondant
6 cups marsh mellows
2-3 cups powdered sugar
Melt the marsh mellows in a glass pan. Spread 2 cups sifted powdered sugar on the counter. dump your melted marsh mellows onto the powdered sugar. roll the marsh mellows continuously into the sugar until it starts to become firm. add more powdered sugar as needed. When done the fondant should be looking smooth, it will still be a little sticky. You should be able to stretch it without out getting tearing. It will still seem a little to soft but will harden once it sets. Brush a little bit on sugar around your fondant ball and put the fondant in a ziplock bag or airtight container and set on counter overnight.
